So why am I promoting a direct competitor from Etsy? It would never happen on Ebay (!) But on Etsy there is more of a community vibe. It is through seeing each other's work that we are continually inspired. I have heard that most sales on Etsy are from sellers buying from each other – and it makes sense, because as artisans we know the true craftsmanship involved.
Anyway, I just want you all to take a peek in her shop. This is a jewellery-maker after my own heart. I love her use of colour and theme. She has an eye for a beautiful stone – and knows how to bring out the best in it. Take this apatite necklace and earring set, for instance:

Apatite is one of those crystals that feels as though it is embued with 'ancient knowledge'. In conjunction with this, it is said to reach into the future, giving clear sight, and some have said it aids connection with beings that are not from our planet. Closer to home, apatite is invaluable for healers as it enhances the use of any other crystal and balances all the energy bodies, connecting with the higher realms of consciousness. It is useful for meditation too.
These and many other treasures can be found in WebGems' Etsy shop. Happy hunting!

the earrings are very cool...
didn't know apatite connected us with beings from other planets...lol no wonder it is natural for me to have apatite in my collection ;)
What a great find--I love those earrings!
It is so true about competition, too. Especially as an artist (or artisan), I don't really feel that there is competition so much. I feel that people will connect with your work, or they won't, and that there are plenty of shoppers--erm, art admirers--to go around. :)
Hmmmm Ms CL, I might have known (!) I had a gorgeous piece of apatite - it looked like 'frozen' water – and I gave it to my sister. But i have never seen her wear it :-(
Yes Lea - Etsy is such a nice place to be. It is more of a social club than a marketplace! And the people there are just about the friendliest ever - it's how I met you after all! One thing that fascinates me is how the Etsians 'deal' with intruders who come in to the chat rooms intent on making trouble - they get rid of them - but oh so politely (lol!!)
I am not a seller, but I am a purchaser on etsy. I love when sellers link to other sellers, competitor or not. I don't have a lot of time to just brouse on etsy so I know I am missing a lot. I am thankful that seller promote other sellers. I have bought some unique items from both. Keep the referals coming!
Thank you Carol - that is good to know!
I want to thank you for posting my work on your blog, I do the same thing on my Etsy site. I love other peoples work and like to strive to improve my creations. I don't see them as competition but as an enhancement to my mental capacity to appreciate good things. The multitude of translations in the use of materials is mind boggling. Isn't it fun?
